Carolina Tannous
Inspired by her mother, who is also a musician; Carolina Tannous began playing piano at the age of five. Tannous obtained her bachelor’s degree in music from a music conservatory in Damascus. She studied under professors who embraced the methods of the Russian school which has greatly influenced her teaching methods. Tannous has over eight years of teaching experience—working with both children and adults. She worked as an assistant to her music professors in the subject of harmony. She has performed in several concert halls internationally and continues her fervent practice as a resident of San Francisco. Tannous is fluent in Russian and Arabic and has worked as an editor for the dictionary of musical terms in those languages. She also plays the classical percussion instruments of marimba and vibraphone. Her favorite composers are Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Mozart.
