JEREMY PASS
Jeremy began studying piano in Canada when he was three years old, and at the age of five won his first competition at a music festival. At eight he won the Armadillo Piano Competition, a national piano competition in the United States to perform with the University of Texas Orchestra. Over the following ten years he placed first in eighteen competitions for solo piano, three for piano-duo, and in ten for solo cello at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. While studying at the Maritime Conservatory of Music in Halifax from 1992 to 1998, he was the recipient of twelve scholarships and bursaries. In 2000 Jeremy was accepted to McGill University, where he completed his bachelor of music degree in Classical Piano Performance under Marina Mdivani, a student of Emil Gilels. Jeremy also had the opportunity to perform in a variety of music ensembles, and to sing choral repertoire with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. |
