Patrick Anseth
Patrick
Anseth is a professional jazz guitarist and teacher, born and raised
in Norway. As a child he learned to sing by listening to his mother,
and could perform excerpts from Bizet's Carmen at the age of five.
When he was nine, he fell in love with the music of Louis Armstrong
and Ole Edvard Antonsen, which inspired him to play the trumpet. It
was two years later, when he first picked up a guitar, however, that
his life was forever changed.
Over
the years, Patrick has played in many different settings. Be it
jammin' at the jazz club after hours, playing in the pit at a
theater, or simply hanging out in someone's backyard, he brings his
passion for music wherever he goes. Inspired by musicians ranging
from Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Pat Metheny, Peter
Bernstein and Kurt Rosenwinkel, he is constantly looking for new
challenges and ways to grow as a musician. After graduating Summa Cum
Laude from Berklee College of Music in May of 2010 with a degree in
Guitar Performance, Patrick relocated from Boston to the Bay Area. He
is thrilled to be teaching at Inspire Music Center!
