Rolfe Dauz
Baritone Rolfe Dauz recently received his Bachelor of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music this past May of 2011. Rolfe graduated from Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, Ca. At the age of 16, he was awarded 2nd Prize in a voice competition at Kathamieux Music Festival in B.C, Canada. During high school, Rolfe enjoyed touring with his father around Europe, US and Canada with an amateur volunteer choir called the “Saringhimg Singers.”
In January of 2009, Rolfe had the opportunity to give a recital at the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines. At the end of the 2009 spring semester, he sang the role of Mars and the chorus in Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach. February of 2010, Rolfe sang the role of Achilla in Giulio Cesare by Handel. Rolfe’s recent engagements include the role of Figaro in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro with Notre Dame de Namur University and San Francisco Pocket Opera and Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with San Francisco Parlor Opera and at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Rolfe is currently studying with Jane Randolph.
Rolfe has held the position of Bass Section Leader at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco from 2008-2010. Rolfe is currently the head cantor at St. James Catholic Church in San Francisco. He toured with the professional choral group AVE, Artists Vocal Ensemble, to Barbados this past April.
Before pursuing his Master degree, he will be taking a year off. In his year off, Rolfe will hope to do re-hash hobbies like cooking, playing basketball, martial art and of course continue to take voice lessons.
