San Francisco based guitarist and producer Richard Michos has been teaching guitar and ukulele, and performing locally and internationally since 1996.  Richard has a gift for teaching kids and students of all ages and is able to customize each lesson to maximize student understanding and results. Richard holds a 4 year BA degree in music from UC San Diego, and also studied the Berklee College of Music in Boston. 


Richard has recorded and produced a number of albums, and is the driving force behind the world music groups Riffat Sultana, and Shabaz, who were signed with Miles Copeland’s Mondomelodia label. He has recorded with artists including Narada Michael Walden and Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, and performed at venues such as the Montreal Jazz Festival and Grand Performances LA.


Richard has also toured major festivals In Rome and Morocco with Quincy Jones. Michos has created tracks for the Egyptian star Hakim, vocalist Najma, DJ Cheb Sabbah, and produces albums for the renowned Lebanese violinist Georges Lammam.
