Summer Sing, started by Inspire Music founder and voice teacher Victor Cervantes, is San Francisco's premier summer vocal workshop geared towards 2nd - 6th graders who love to sing. Students can expect to develop vocal technique, stage presence, and will have a final performance with a live band! Classes will be taught by Victor himself along with Inspire Music piano and guitar teacher Francis Oliveira.
Summer Sing is a weeklong program running from July 13th - 18th, 10am - 3pm at Inspire Music with a performance open to the public at the end of the week.
Tuition is $399 per student and before and after care will be available at an additional cost at $15/hour per child.
Victor Cervantes, Vocal Director
Victor Cervantes is the owner and founder of Inspire Music and the Hip Kids and Voices Choirs. As a vocalist, Victor has opened shows and toured with such names as Pilar Montenegro, Stefani Montiel, MDO, Patti Cabrera, and Shakira's Tour of the Mongoose in 2005. As a teacher, Victor has many successful students who have won numerous awards, were admitted to the San Francisco's Boys Chorus at the highest level, admitted into SOTA (School of the Arts), and are continuing careers in Equity Musical Productions. Summer Sing is Victor's latest program aimed towards developing vocal talent and stage presence for San Francisco's next generation of singers
Francis Oliveira, Music Director
Francis Oliveira is pianist and guitarist with a strong background in both popular and classical music. A graduate of the University of Campinas - SP, Brazil, his course of study was composition, ear and vocal training, classical and popular piano, improvisation and conducting. As a popular musician, last band in Brazil was Anjos de Resgate, one of the most popular Catholic bands in the country, where he was with the band for 6 years touring the whole country. The band played in more than 300 cities, recorded two albums and one live DVD with him playing piano, synth, guitar, saxophone, harmonica and also background singing. Francis is currently the music teacher at St. Stephen’s School and has been working with Victor Cervantes at HipKids Choir, Rooftop School and Mercy High School. He is also Assistant Music Director at Mission Dolores Church. His music repertoire goes from Classical to Rock ’n Roll.
